SingaporeTeachersLearningCentre is a community website for the sharing of teaching resources. Started by the 2005 PGDE(SEC) NIE batch of trainee-teachers, it is filled with lesson plans and other resources created during our stay in NIE. We hope to continue providing a place for anyone to share their works of a similar nature.

Attached are the 4 lesson plans, slides and notes (modified from slides). Please vett the lessons before using them as they could be erroneous.

The slides are heavily animated and will require at least PPT XP to be viewed properly.

Please feel free to share the slides as required but please retain the acknowledgement as on the title slide of the State Change.ppt

My email is found on the same slide if you need to contact me.

Hi all fellow trainee teachers!
I hope everyone is still alive and kicking!
The 9th week of practicum is almost over, and the 10th week would also fly by in a while.

Its been quiet in this network, so i've decided to make some noise. Would like to thank the ppl managing this Learning Centre as well as everyone who has contributed.

I've benefitted alot from the shared resources here, but i am also guilty of not posting my materials. (oops). I will be posting my ppt slides soon (let me have some time to tidy up), hopefully it will benefit others as well.

I hope more of u will share ur materials too. =)

See u all at QCP & QCM again soon!

Best Regards, Rachel Chng

Current Electricity - Kirchhoff's Laws

Submitted by yjsoon on 27 March, 2006 - 9:53pm. Categories: Current Electricity | Files: Lesson Plans, Videos

Lesson plan on Kirchhoff's Laws, including activity worksheet.

This was the set I used for my lesson observation by my NIE supervisor. I can't upload the actual lab material because it's school intellectual property, but the gist of it is in the presentation file.

Warning: This was designed for a rather motivated gifted class ("muggers all", their form teacher tells me). The next class I tried it on -- also gifted ed, but incredibly rowdy -- it didn't work as well, but thankfully I wasn't being observed for them.

Polynomial Game

Submitted by jinwentai on 26 March, 2006 - 10:26pm. Categories: Algebra | Files: Lesson Plans, Videos

The objective of the polynomial game is to get students to consolidate their knowledge on how to determine the order of a polynomial. To use this worksheet, you need to create your own polynomial cards.

Handout on Addition and Subtraction with Negative Numbers

Submitted by akmal on 26 March, 2006 - 9:51pm. Categories: Files: Lesson Plans, Videos | Numbers

This is for a Sec 1 Class. It shows what happens when you add and subtract numbers involving negative numbers. It's a summary handout, not an investigative worksheet. I'm not sure how useful it will be for your students. I haven't tried it out on mine yet.

I'm attaching both the pdf and tex source file
